The Abilympics name comes from the idea of organizing a competition for the promotion of disabled people’s professional expertise. It is a combination between expertise, skills (Abilities) and the Olympic movement.

Abilympics helps putting emphasis on the high potential of disabled people and on the added value they represent for our companies by developing their skills.

The 9th International Abilympics will be held in conjunction with the 44th regional selection of Aquitaine for World Skills Competition (For more information about World Skills: www.worldskills.org).

Through various programs, the International Abilympics 2016 aims to :

  •  Increase the number of participating countries and regions

  •  Show the skills of people with disabilities to employers and to the general public

  •  Ensure fairness and transparency in each contest.
